Our History The church is relatively young, less than 100 years old. The group began meeting in the local schoolhouse and then moved to a local chapel but soon grew too large for that building also. Interestingly, a vote was taken by the membership to determine what denomination the church would associate with. Methodist actually won, but since there was already a Methodist Church in the area, Presbyterianism got the nod. Because of the many denominations involved in the original church, we carry the name "United". The current building was completed in 1957 and dedicated in January of 1958. |
